Nicholas Elkins

Director of Customer Services and Business Development

Nicholas Elkins is the Director of Customer Services and Business Development for Indiana Michigan Power (I&M). He oversees residential, commercial and industrial accounts and is responsible for the energy efficiency and demand side management programs that help customers reduce their energy usage.

Prior to his Director level appointment in 2016, he managed the construction, maintenance and operation of the Fort Wayne, Ind., area electric distribution system, ensuring safe and reliable service to customers.

Elkins is a 15-year veteran of American Electric Power, I&M's parent company. He began his career in Columbus, Ohio, as an Information Technology Support Technician. Over the years, he held positions of increasing responsibility. In 2010, he joined I&M as the Region Manager for IT Telecommunications Operations.

Prior to joining AEP, he worked as an IT technician for Chase Bank's trading floor in Columbus and, before that, as an accountant for a supply company.

He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Franklin University.

He resides in Fort Wayne with his wife and three children.
