I&M RATES REDUCED IN INDIANA

September 16, 2011

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) filed documents with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to reduce its base rates in Indiana by $6.2 million effective Sept. 28.

The rate reduction is the result of an accounting adjustment pertaining to the amortization of nuclear fuel inventory used at the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, Mich. in accordance with the settlement of the company’s rate case which was approved by the IURC in March 2009.

A typical residential customer using 1,000 kilowatts of electricity each month will see a decrease of 46 cents on a monthly electric bill.
