Whether blue skies or the moments following severe weather, our lineworkers play a valuable role at Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) – but also within our communities. They weather challenging conditions and dedicate long hours to ensure reliable, safe power for our customers. Throughout the year, we appreciate the work they do and the passion they show individuals nearby or miles away. And our customers feel the same.
In recognition of the recent National Lineworker Appreciation Day on April 18, customers had the opportunity to submit messages of gratitude for I&M’s lineworkers.

“During this last round of storms, you really went over and above to ensure that our community was safe and that our power came back on as soon as possible. For that, we are grateful. All the best to you and your families. Thank you.” – Karen, South Bend, Ind.

“We see you out there working but we don't get to thank you face to face so please know you are appreciated so much for your often behind the scenes contributions to our community.” – Carol, Marion, Ind.
“I understand how dangerous your job is and I want you to know that you are truly our Heroes after all storm. Thank you so much for all you do!” – Marcella, Three Rivers, Mich.
Linework requires significant passion and skill. Often, crews are called upon in the middle of the night, during stormy conditions, on holidays or during time with their families to respond to emergencies. They work to safely restore power for customers to resume their normal lives, but also to restore hope following a catastrophic weather event.
