Each job at Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is different, but together, our team is united in serving our communities. Whether restoring power high in a bucket truck, responding to customers’ questions or volunteering for a local organization, we can all make a difference. And together, we can make an even bigger impact on those same communities we call home. 

As a team, I&M employees come together to volunteer for different organizations. Individuals also dedicate their time to serve similar community initiatives as volunteers, board members or committee members. From projects like helping the Fort Wayne Zoo as part of the United Way’s Day of Caring to volunteering as a little league coach outside of work, we are all better together.

And we are all motivated differently for this work. For I&M’s Candace Petrie, her desire to make an impact on her community is done with her family in mind. She believes by volunteering, she can show her kids the importance of kindness and compassion, as well as the value of giving back. By exhibiting responsibility and drive for the community, she hopes to inspire them to lead lives focused on making the world a better place. Read Candace’s full story here.

Even within smaller teams, volunteering provides the opportunity to fill a need specific to the community. I&M’s grid modernization team also uses this as a chance to bond and build comradery.
