How would you best describe the work your nonprofit does?

YMCA Camp Eberhart provides an outdoor learning experience for youth that goes beyond the classroom. Our team immerses individuals in an outdoor environment with lessons about ecosystems of the lake and woods. They also experience things they may not have the opportunity to through activities such as canoeing, kayaking, equestrian, climbing challenges, STEM learning, fellowship around a campfire and more.

What audience does your organization commonly serve?

Camp Eberhart serves school-age youth through outdoor education during the spring, fall and winter. We target youth ages 4-17 during the summer season, as well as families in the spring and fall for family camp weekends. Special interest groups also attend during the spring, fall and winter months.

How would you describe your organization’s partnership with I&M?

Our partnership with I&M has allowed us to host youth who may not have the opportunity to partake in the full experience of overnight camp. We have been able to offer a greater experience to individuals who have never been immersed in learning through nature or had the social interaction an overnight camp provides.

In what ways have you worked with I&M during this partnership? 

The team at I&M has been instrumental in supporting our education efforts, allowing us to continue to offer this opportunity to low income communities and schools. Their guidance and continued support of Camp Eberhart and activities offered at the YMCA is so greatly appreciated!
