How would you best describe the work your nonprofit does?

The Rescue Mission seeks to provide real change to individuals facing a homelessness crisis by meeting basic needs and offering therapeutic programming that reaches the root cause of homelessness, such as mental illness, trauma and lack of support. Our organization provides food and shelter, as well as hygiene, clothing and personal items for these individuals.

The Rescue Mission includes four major programs: Life House for emergency services and community meals; Restoration House for short and long-term programming and outreach; Charis House offering emergency shelter for women and children and Treasure House for vocational training.

What audience does your organization commonly serve?

We serve anyone facing a homeless crisis as well as the underserved and poor in the community. Anyone is welcomed to come and eat three meals 365 days a year here. We also provide everything needed to address the overall issue and don’t allow people to fall through the cracks. 

How would you describe your organization’s partnership with I&M?

I&M has been a wonderful partner to the Rescue Mission for several years. In our old facility, they provided funding for the Learning Center and set up the computers and desks needed for the space. They later became a capital partner for our current facility. Over the past several years, I&M also sponsored both our Spring Gala and Fall Banquet. We greatly appreciate their staff volunteers and support.
