We are proud to help keep our communities in Indiana and Michigan growing and thriving. Our team strives to support our neighbors, but recently, one group worked on a specific project to ensure housing for selected future families. Despite facing a cool stretch of spring weather, efforts were not slowed in helping at a pair of Habitat for Humanity builds in Muncie.
Stretched across two days in late April, I&M volunteers worked alongside the Greater Muncie Habitat for Humanity volunteer crews at a pair of sites to help prepare them for future homeowners. Projects for this group included basic construction tasks to landscaping and other yard work. Volunteers are encouraged to join in these projects despite skillset. Responsibilities are taught through the course of the day to ensure a fulfilling time on the job site.
Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Through volunteer labor and donations, new builds and repaired homes are available for partner families to purchase through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods.
I&M has a long past working with the Habitat for Humanity organization through home builds and various fundraisers. Teams have served in earlier Muncie opportunities and more recently, have supported the Greater Fort Wayne organization.
