I&M Addressing Water Level Issue at Elkhart Hydroelectric Facility

June 7, 2024

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) is working to determine what caused water levels at the Elkhart Hydroelectric Facility to unexpectedly drop six-inches from its normal summer operating level. The facility is still within its Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) operating guidelines.

I&M’s contingent of hydroelectric experts are addressing the situation. Please note, this does NOT affect people from accessing the waterways near the facility.

I&M will continue to provide updates as we learn more information.
