Traffic Impact Advisory -- State Route 1760, Lawrence County

August 16, 2013

ASHLAND – Kentucky Power and contractor crews will temporarily restrict traffic along Kentucky State Route 1760 (KY 1760) in Lawrence County from time to time between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning Aug. 20 and ending the week of Oct. 4.  The road restrictions are necessary to allow line crews to safely install new utility poles and power lines along the roadway.  The traffic restrictions will occur at various locations along the roadway starting near the intersection of KY 1760 and Mattie-Wilbur Road and ending near the intersection of KY 1760 and Left Fork Little Blaine Road.

At times the roadway may be completely blocked for short periods as bucket trucks and other equipment are used to install the new power facilities along the narrow road.  At other times, traffic may be slowed and allowed to proceed with caution around vehicles and equipment.  Emergency vehicles utilizing the roadway will be accommodated and allowed to pass throughout the duration of the project.  Workers will make every effort to keep all traffic interruptions as brief as possible.

Kentucky Power has notified highway officials, law enforcement agencies and local authorities of the road restrictions and obtained all necessary work-related permits.  Professional traffic control personnel will be on hand to manage traffic and lane closures.
