AEP Texas continues to monitor winter weather conditions in the western areas of its service territory.  Over 200 restoration service providers from other parts of the AEP Texas service territory are in route to Abilene and areas north where the most extreme weather is predicted.  These crews are in addition to over 60 local restoration service providers.  The efforts of those directly working to restore power as necessary will be supported by the staffs at area operation centers.

Electric customers should call the AEP Texas Customer Solutions Center (866-223-8508) to report downed power lines, power outages and any unsafe conditions.  Consumers are reminded to stay clear of any downed lines and assume they are energized.  Consumers may want to have a copy of their electric bill on hand, which contains their ESI ID number. This will help expedite service if they are transferred to an automated system.

Anyone on life support or who require an uninterrupted power supply should make alternative arrangements in case of an extended outage. Weather conditions may impede AEP Texas’ ability to access certain areas.
