Tech Minute: Electric Forklifts
High lifts, heavy loads, rugged terrain, long battery life and fast recharging — the electric forklifts of today can do it all.
Thanks to advances in AC motors and battery technology, electric forklifts can do virtually any job their internal combustion counterparts can. They just do it in a more convenient way.
Electric forklift batteries last longer and charge faster than ever before, making it easier to plug in during breaks or keep forklifts running for a full shift or more. They're also smaller, which allows them to maneuver and operate in tighter spaces. Electric models are quieter, too, which allows for better communication and reduces operator stress and the risk of hearing loss.
On top of all that, electric forklifts cost less to operate. Electricity is cheaper than conventional fuels, and electric models need less maintenance, meaning less downtime for repairs. And with no on-site combustion emissions, there's less need for ventilation. Electric forklifts also have a longer service life.
Give your energy spending and indoor environment a break, and leave the heavy lifting to electric forklifts.
